One mission.

From classrooms to community fields, from language tables to creative studios โ€” our work spans two parallel tracks designed to preserve culture, build capacity, and create lasting peace across South Sudan and the wider continent.

Track One

Culture & Community

The cultural and developmental work that shapes identity and brings communities together โ€” preserving heritage, supporting creativity, and building stronger, more resilient communities.

Children learning together
Program 01

Cultural Education & Heritage

We bring African cultural identity into classrooms and community spaces โ€” teaching children and youth about the music, languages, traditions, and oral histories that define our communities. Heritage is not a museum piece; it's a living resource for the next generation.

Arts & Creativity

Music, theatre, visual art, and digital creativity. We give artists and aspiring creators the space, tools, and mentorship they need to develop their craft โ€” and we connect their work back to audiences who value it. This is how culture stays vibrant.

Community Development

Strong cultures rest on strong communities. Our community development work supports rural livelihoods, agricultural cooperatives, and grassroots projects that give families economic footing โ€” particularly women-led households. When communities thrive, culture thrives.

Social Peace & Conflict Resolution

We create the spaces and conduct the difficult conversations that turn tension into understanding. From intercommunal dialogue circles to traditional reconciliation forums, we work with elders, youth leaders, and women's groups to build a culture of peace from the ground up.

Why our work matters

The cost of inaction is measured in lives.

South Sudan continues to face the long shadows of conflict, displacement, and economic fragility. Behind every statistic is a family โ€” a child out of school, a tradition at risk of being lost, a community fragmented by violence.

This is why the African Cultural Centre exists. Culture, education, and peace are not luxuries to pursue once stability arrives. They are the foundation on which stability is built.

Learning & Capacity

The educational programs that build individual capacity and create economic opportunity โ€” from language learning to professional skills training, with a particular focus on youth and women.

Language Education

Arabic, English, French, Chinese, and more. In a connected continent, language is opportunity โ€” for jobs, for trade, for higher education, for diplomacy. Our language program serves all ages, from children just starting school to adults rebuilding their careers.
